AMEA Power LLC has inked arrangements to develop a 50MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Ivory Coast, the country's first Independent Power Producer (IPP) project. The agreement includes a concession agreement and a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The overall investment in the initiative is anticipated at roughly USD 60 million (EUR 55.3 million). AMEA Power will fully develop the project under the build-own-operate-and-transfer model. While the local electric utility company, Compagnie Ivoirienne d'Electricite, will collect the solar farm's output.

The solar farm will be located in the city of Bondoukou in the north-eastern region of Gontougo. Once operational, the power plant will generate more than 85 GWh per year, which is sufficient to cover the annual energy needs of around 350,000 people. As part of its strategic plan, the Ivorian government intends to increase the proportion of renewable energy in the country's electricity generation mix to 42% by 2030.
