German automobile manufacturer launched its e-tron range (an electric vehicle) in South Africa, with many models of the vehicle available for sale. The available models in the SUV, CUV and high-performance categories include e-tron 50, e-tron Sportback 55, e-tron Sportback S, e-tron Gran Turismo (GT) and Racing Sport (RS) e-tron GT. Sales of the first edition of the Audi e-tron 55, which will begin from the second half of the year, will be limited and available at any of the ten e-tron Audi dealerships in South Africa. The price of an e-tron range is expected to be between R1.75 million and R3.3 million.

The introduction of the e-tron range is pivotal to South Africa’s EV sector, which will help South Africans enjoy premium and sustainable mobility. Also, it advances Audi’s penetration of the international market and its commitments towards the Paris Climate Agreement.

In the future, the company intends to release a new e-tron model yearly in a bid to become the market leader in the premium automotive market. Also, the company will build electric vehicle public charging stations across South Africa on the back of its partnership with GridCars.
