Starsight Energy, a provider of renewable energy services, and SolarAfrica Energy, a solar company with operations in South Africa, have announced their merger agreement. They are combining their strengths to become one of the continent's leading solar companies and offer competitive, all-inclusive solutions for the commercial and industrial sectors regarding renewable energy and energy efficiency.

With a broad spectrum of renewable energy solutions that offer power security, cost savings, and carbon reduction, the merger is well-situated to serve an even broader range of clients. With a generation pipeline that exceeds 1GW, the merged firm will have a portfolio of over 220MW of operated and contractual generation capacity and 40MWh of operational battery storage.

According to David McDonald, SolarAfrica Energy co-founder and Chief Executive Officer. "The merger will enable efficiencies across the group, ranging from procurement to funding, and further allow for the rollout of our proprietary technology platform across the continent. These efficiencies will assist the group in providing a unique and valuable offering that takes customers on a green energy journey to solve their power struggles and enable a sustainable future for their businesses."
